Zeepay Ghana Launches Mobile Wallet and Agency Banking Globally, Fueled by Software Group's DigiWave
Zeepay, the fastest growing wholly Ghanaian-owned fintech in Ghana, is introducing new digital financial solutions in partnership with Software Group, a global financial technology provider, with the aim to scale their business and accelerate financial inclusion.
Zeepay is focused on connecting digital assets such as mobile money wallets, cards, ATMs, bank accounts and much more, and has subsidiaries in the UK and 30+ other countries.
Software Group was selected based on its robust DigiWave Digital Banking Platform for the delivery of Mobile Wallet and Agency Banking backend (PAP) via APIs. This enabled Zeepay to develop and customize their frontend of the solutions and implement the API integrations accordingly.
The project was split into two phases, introducing services that offered a whole new world of speed and convenience in everyday banking.
The first phase, which went live in July 2022, enabled customers to self-register, send P2P and bank transfers, view account balance and transaction history, refer new friends and many more.
The second phase of the implementation (now live) introduced a variety of USSD functionalities through which users are able to access bill payments, cash deposit and withdrawal, make bank transfers and QR payments at merchant stores, remittances and more.
‘’Mobile money has dominated the financial services industry for some years now. This is a great time for African financial service providers to reimagine their business models and offer new generation mobile payment solutions supported by end-to-end digitalization providers such as Software Group,’’ said Felicity Jaforktuk, Country Manager for Barbados & Product Manager at Zeepay.
‘’Financial inclusion is a mission that is very dear to our heart as a company. That is why we are very pleased to partner with Zeepay and to support them with the right technology tools on their path to being a market leader and offering competitive solutions that improve people’s lives,‘’ said Connor Hanan, Africa CEO at Software Group.
Both Software Group and Zeepay envisage this project as strategic and in the future will leverage on the complimentary solutions available on Software Group’s DigiWave Digital Banking Platform with a view to grow the business globally across many sectors.
