Ecuador’s SODIG S.A. to Build a Mobile Wallet with Software Group

SODIG S.A. (Sodigsa.com), a technology solutions provider in Ecuador that develops and implements a facial bio-metric recognition system and a nationwide electronic invoice platform for government and financial institutions in the country, joins forces with Software Group to roll out a mobile wallet, which will provide a portal for easy digital enrollment for its customers. The solution will also have referral functions to exponentially grow the client’s portfolio and will later be able to grant them digital loans through products configured in their partners’ CBS/Management Information Systems. 

The new platform will be used in Ecuador and its development will take two phases. In the first phase SODIG S.A. plans to introduce a multi-tenancy mWallet platform to allow Cooperative Unions and other Financial Institutions to onboard end users with a strong facial bio-metric capabilities. Phase two foresees the implementation of a referral program to grow their clients portfolio, digital loans through products configured in their partners’ MIS/CBS, plus added value services like bill and merchant payments.

Through the Mobile Wallet, SODIG S.A. will be able to provide an agile and secure payment method that also will promote consumption and reactivation of Ecuador's economy. It will in turn avoid contact and contagious risks due to the exchange of money or plastic cards, allowing the customers to receive a wide range of services and benefits within the ecosystem, thus generating a competitive advantage with the products offered by the consumer market.

Software Group’s mWallet enables Financial Service Providers (FSPs) to offer digital accounts and transactions to their customers covering all various types of payments such as Person-to-Person (P2P), Consumer-to-Business (C2B) or Government-to-Citizen (G2C) using mobile devices. Depending on the FPS’s needs, the mWallet can also provide bill payments, airtime purchase, digital credit, special offers and promotions and much more.
